Teachers’ Guild – Office of the Vice President
The Teachers’ Guild does not have a centralized legislative assembly akin to a board or senate. Instead, its legislative function is collectively exercised by the Council Officers—primarily through the Year Level Representatives, who serve as the primary conduits of legislative representation within the Guild. Each Year Representative legally represents and advocates for their cohort, proposes activities, and participates in policy formation concerning their constituents. Additionally, four standing commissions (Constitutional, Electoral, Student Rights and Welfare, and Audit) provide essential oversight and quasi-legislative authority over matters of rights, governance, and compliance. These commissions, while not part of a single law-making body, contribute to the Guild’s decision-making through resolutions, regulatory enforcement, and disciplinary procedures. Thus, TG’s legislative framework is decentralized and functionally integrated into its executive and commission-based operations, reflecting a governance model rooted in representation, committee oversight, and procedural justice.
