Assembly of Extracurricular Organizations – Board of Presidents
The Board of Presidents (BOP) is the highest deliberative and policy-making body of the Assembly of Extra-Curricular Organizations. Composed of the highest-ranking officers of all recognized SACDEV Accredited Organizations (SAOs) and Partner Organizations (POs), each member organization is represented by a single Member President with one vote in all legislative proceedings. The BOP is presided over by the Board Convener, while the Secretary-General serves as a non-voting ex-officio member.
The BOP exercises full legislative powers over the Assembly, including the passage of statutes, resolutions, and internal codes. Legislative enactments follow a three-reading rule and require majority approval, subject to the Secretary-General’s veto power, which can be overridden by a two-thirds vote. The BOP is also responsible for confirming appointments, issuing policy positions, investigating complaints, proposing constitutional amendments, and ensuring responsive, transparent governance for all member organizations. Through this assembly, XU-AECO ensures strong representation and participatory policy-making across the university’s diverse extra-curricular ecosystem.
