Association of Engineering Students – Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the legislative arm of the Association of the College of Engineering Students. It is composed of the Presidents of all recognized co-curricular organizations under the College of Engineering, with the Council Vice President serving as the Convener and presiding officer. This body is responsible for enacting ordinances and resolutions, confirming executive appointments, passing the General Plan of Action, and overseeing the implementation of laws and policies affecting the engineering student body.

Legislative power is exercised through structured sessions requiring quorum (50% + 1), a three- reading process for ordinances, and mandatory constitutional review by the Court of Justice. Resolutions require majority approval but are not subject to executive veto. The Convener votes only to break ties, while all other Board members possess one vote each. The Board also upholds transparency through open financial records and has the authority to hold inquiries, override vetoes, and adjust legislative frameworks to respond to the needs of the student engineers it serves.
